From the end of the Kamakura period to the Northern and Southern Dynasties (1333-1392), Mr. Saburo Shizu moved from Yamato Province to Shizu, Tagi District (Shizu, Nannocho, Yoro District), and at the same time, “Kinju” moved from Echizen Province to Seki. Furthermore, from Echizen, the head of the country, Kuniyuki, and Tadashi moved from various countries to Akasaka (Akasaka-cho, Ogaki City), and the swordsmiths of Mino Province reached a prosperous period.
According to the “Japanese sword inscription”, around the time of Eiwa (1375-1378), “Kanemitsu” (the first inscription of the third son of Lieutenant Uemon, the son-in-law of Kinko, and the third son of the blacksmith) was introduced from Yamato Province. He moved to the land of Seki with blacksmiths Kaneaki and Kanehiro, and is said to be the founder of Seki blacksmiths.
Yamato blacksmiths who moved to the land of Seki during the turbulent times began full-scale activities, and Seki swordsmiths whose ancestors were Kanemitsu formed the blacksmith seat, which is an autonomous organization of blacksmiths, and made the sword god Kasuga in Nara. A shrine is enshrined at Kasuga Shrine (Minamikasugacho) in Seki. With the company as the base of Seki swordsmithing, it reached its peak, and is called the Seki Shichiryu, the Zensada school (Kaneyoshi), Muroya school (concurrently), Ryoken school (concurrently), Nara school (Kanetsune), The Tokunaga faction (Kanehiro), the Miami faction (Kanenori), and the Tokuin faction (Kaneyasu) were formed and competed with each other.
According to “Study of Mino swordsmiths in the Muromachi period”, the oldest work in the Muromachi period is the dagger of “Kanemitsu Oei 1st August”. “Kanemitsu”, who emigrated to the land of Seki during the Nanbokucho period, was the monumental figure of Seki blacksmith who founded the blacksmith, and since then, it seems that it belonged to the Zensho school and continued for several generations throughout the Muromachi period.

This sword has a sharp structure with a thin layered tip, and the sword is clearly reflected on the ground iron that has been forged with a grain, and it burns the turbulence of the sharp blades of the small boiling point, and it fits well and is fine. Mino-den with a strong sand flow. At present, some rust is seen on the edge of the blade between the finger surface hitting and the side hand in the old sharpening, but both the ground blades are in a state that can be fully enjoyed. The work of this time, when there were many battles, was trained not only for Kanemitsu but also for practical use, so there should be small flaws that do not cause any problems in use, and there should be flaws for this sword. I think it’s funny to ask. Buried iron can be seen in some parts, but as you can see from the attached sword fittings, it can be said that it is a gem that has been carefully conveyed. The three length-compared waist gutters scratched on the front and back are also impressive.

The attached sword is a matching metal fitting (rim head, koikuchi body metal, chestnut shape, tsuba) of the towing boat drawing by Masamitsu. The finest Aogai fine dust coating. As described in the appraisal report, the pattern is the first volume with a bellows roll, the shark is a single roll of large luxury items, and the habaki is a very expensive gold dress for the Edo period. A masterpiece that you can walk alone. It shows off the goodness and dignity of the book and the light sword.

Nude weight 617 grams. Weight of 948 grams that was put in the sword and the sheath was removed.
