Kanenobu is said to be a descendant of Shizu, which has continued since the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and was inherited by the good swords during the Muromachi period, leading to the new sword period.
There is also a theory that the first Tashiro (Tashiro) Kanenobu who received Yamato Mamoru, commonly known as Genichiro, is a skillful representative of Mino in the new sword period, also known as “Genichi Yamato”, and is the same person as Genichi Kanemoto. The second generation Kanenobu (Kakubei) had the same pattern and baked three cedars. After the second generation, the central butt seems to be slightly rounded and becomes a chestnut butt, but among the several generations of Kanenobu, the first Kanenobu is a popular swordsmith, and it is rare that the Yamato Mamoru name is cut.
This sword is different from the brilliantly pointed Sanbonsugi that is scattered in the streets, and it is composed of rounded mutual nome cloves that make up the three cedars. It is a gem with high artistic value, with sharp eyes and fine heathered ground iron with boiling, the scent is extremely bright and clear, it fits well, and a fine sand stream can be seen in the blade.
The attached sword fittings are in extremely good condition, and the metal fittings are made by Masayuki Musashi, and the work is very polite. If I dare to mention the drawback, it seems that the chestnut shape originally had a metal object with the same pattern, but it was lost and now it is replaced with a buffalo horn chestnut shape. Only the point to say.
Please take this opportunity to add a work by Kanenobu, who has high artistic value both inside and outside the collection.
Nude weight 648 grams. Weight 938 grams that was put in the sword and the sheath was removed.
