The two royal groups of Suo Province have reported that they started with Kiyomasa or Seihei around Hoen, but no definite isaku has been confirmed, and today Kiyotsuna is the de facto ancestor.
In the existing example of Kiyotsuna, there is a sword with the inscription “March, Bunei 2nd year, Kiyotsuna” at Itsukushima Shrine, followed by a dagger with the name of “Hoshu Kusho Kiyotsuna” in the 2nd year of Kenmu. The inscription continues until the Muromachi period.
There are many temple territories such as Todaiji Temple in Suo Province, and it is thought that the strong Yamato color in the style of the Nioh school is due to the exchange with the home country of Yamato, and although there are various theories about the origin of the name of the Nioh It is generally believed that when the Nioh-do Temple in Suo Province was hit by a fire, the chain connecting the statues of Nioh was cut off with a sword of Kiyotsuna and the statue of Nioh was rescued.

This sword was made by Hosei, who was active around the Kanbun period in the early Edo period. It is a sword that seems to be the first sword, as you can see from the physical constitution. It is a work that burns a bright straight blade that is about the size of a small boiling point, and although it looks like a monotonous straight blade when viewed roughly, it shows a delicate view when viewed in detail.
The Kanbun new sword body, which is fine and slightly longer than the blade length, has a difference in the tip, and when you pick it up, it feels lighter than the actual weight, making it very suitable for one-handed operations such as Iai. I will.

At present, there is no problem in viewing the ground blade while sharpening the old blade, but you can see very small blade shavings in some places.
The attached sword fittings are made in the Edo period and have a pattern using large parent grains. It is a simple but rugged sword that is designed for practical use, such as a flat inlaid rim on a smooth ground and an iron sword that can easily catch the enemy’s sword.

At the time of purchase, there were some scratches and small dents on the sheath, so we repainted the sheath at our shop. You can comfortably enjoy both iaido training and viewing. Since there is no swallowing of habaki, it is about 5 mm longer than the actual blade length, so it is actually about 2 shaku, 3 inch, 7 minutes and 6 square meters.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like to remove the blade and re-polish. (Separate construction cost required)
