Chikuba Shinyotei

Chikuba Shinyotei is a traditional ryokan, located in Yunokawa Onsen in Hakodate, Hokkaido. The quaint inn provides the ambiance of a traditional Japanese inn while providing the comforts of the modern age--great for tourists looking for a way to explore Japanese culture.

The ryokan has 41 rooms, all keeping their traditional interiors from when the building was made in 1949. Each having tatami fitter flooring, low furniture, and a view of the property’s garden.

Some rooms are provided with their own private hot spring baths. Additionally, there are also indoor and outdoor baths offered to guests to enjoy--the outdoor baths come with a serene view of the Japanese garden.
Chikuba Shinyotei also has an indoor zen garden, a shop, and a banquet hall where guests can partake in varying culinary experiences, including kaiseki meals.
Chikuba Shinyotei is accessible from Hakodate Airport by car or taxi. The inn is operating normally with safety measures in place and limited acceptance to prevent the spread of infection.
