Fukuchin-In Temple

Fukuchin Temple is a temple-turned-guest house located in Mount Koya.

The Buddhist temple has traditional Japanese rooms complete in tatami mat flooring and futon bedding. A stay costs 20,000 to 40,000 JPY per night, with bathrooms and a display of the beautiful garden which is featured in some of the rooms.

Guests are invited to take a dip in their public hot spring baths. Public baths can be enjoyed either indoors or outdoors.


Guests can also view the landscaped garden designed by Shigemori Mirei, a renowned landscape artist. Guests are also encouraged to participate in the Shakyo Sutra transcriptions and attend the morning services.

Vegetarian dishes are served to guests for breakfast, providing that guests who want to eat dinner must make a request beforehand. All of the meals at the temple can be served either in the rooms of the guests or in the dining room.


Fukuchin-In Temple is near Kongobu-ji Temple, which can be visited by guests during their stay.
The temple can be reached by train from the Namba Station. Guest are required to practice safety and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
