Gion Hatanaka

Gion Hatanaka is a traditional Japanese inn located in Higashiyama. The inn offers guests facilities which they can enjoy like their featured onsen.

The inn also invites visitors to try their large communal baths. Guests are encouraged to try the kaiseki dinner, which is a multi-course meal comprising of Japanese cuisine based on the seasons.
With the location near the geisha district, guests can also anticipate a maiko evening where they can play and spend quality time with their loved ones. To add more fun to the geisha entertainment, the friendly staff of the ryokan will help visitors wear a yukata to complete their cultural immersion. It is where guests can witness traditional dances from the maiko and learn more about samurais and their sword dances.
Historical sites like the Yasaka shrine and the Geisha village is what Gion is known for. Guests can also experience the largest festival in Kyoto every month of July.
Its location can be reached from Gion-Shijo Station and Hankyu Kawaramachi Station. The ryokan has sadly closed its doors due to the coronavirus but has reopened in June 2020 with precautionary measures.
