Naraya

Naraya is a prestigious ryokan located in Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture. It has a history that spans over 130 years, founded in the Meiji Period (1868-1912) and is situated near the “Yubatake” or hot water field.

Naraya offers 35 unique guest rooms that feature modern Japanese decors with a sitting area fitted with tatami mat flooring, and low furniture. Each room is provided with a flat-screen television, refrigerator, and an attached toilet.

Guests are invited to relax in the large communal baths with hot spring waters sourced nearby. Alternatively, there are private indoor baths that can be reserved in advance. Other facilities include a bar and cafe.
A kaiseki dinner is served to the guests in the dining room, each dish featuring fresh local ingredients sourced around Gunma, same as with breakfast with a healthy helping of vegetables.
Naraya can be accessed by JR Limited Express from Ueno Station in Tokyo. The establishment is operating normally with safety measures in place and limited acceptance to prevent the spread of infection.
