1. TAKASHIMAYA DEPARTMENT STORE

Downtown eight – stories Kyoto giant has various shopping options under one roof. 2. DAIMARU KYOTO

Located 2 min from the Shi-jyo station, downtown Kyoto, Daimaru has items at every price range from 1th to 6th floor of fashion, 7th furniture, hobbies, gifts, and food feast/paradise on the ground floors. The second floor is luxurious, mesmerizing shopping heaven with the names of Prada and Chanel, Shiseido & Clinique on the cosmetics department, and it is difficult to go on, so let’s mention the middle range and budget options of the popular Banana Republic, Sisley and many, many more.

3. ISETAN DEPARTMENT STORE

The high-end department store is located inside the JR Kyoto station building. Its whopping 13 floors accommodate all relevant international and domestic designer brands. If you need help in finding that perfect fit, gift, or accessory, product specialists will be keen to guide you along. Worth a mention are two food floors in the basement. Even if shopping here doesn’t tempt you due to the prices, you could still explore and take in the feel of this quintessential option, or simply nibble through the food floors, the offer is delicious.

4. AEON MALL KYOTO

Located near Kyoto station Aeon is a five-level mall offering just about everything you’d expect from a mall, including a game center. Open 7 days a week from 10 am till 9 pm for the shops and 10 pm for the restaurants, food court, and Kohyo supermarket. Reasonable prices, budget to middle – range, lots of entertainment facilities and famous 100-yen shop Daiso with over 140 different shops should keep you busy for a day.

5. PORTA SHOPPING MALL

The underground shopping mall is conveniently located under the Kyoto bus station. Apart from a large selection of inexpensive restaurants, this is a popular tourist mall for clothes, cosmetics, souvenirs, and accessories. Not many familiar names here, but still a fine selection of budget products. Closes a bit earlier than the rest in Kyoto, but this is a very practical stop for a quick bite, travelers shopping, or unmistakable Caffe Mocha at Starbucks.
