- Kimono rental is not included. If you would like to attend in kimono, make a separate kimono rental reservation for a time at least one hour before this experience.
- Your host: A maiko usually hosts the session. A geisha may appear on some dates, depending on availability.
- Age requirement: Children under 7 cannot enter the tea ceremony venue.
- Reservations & assistance: Advance booking is required; walk-ins are not available. Please contact us in advance if you require special assistance or seating arrangements.
- Cancellation: Geisha events have a special cancellation policy. If an emergency involving the performer requires the event to be cancelled, you will be notified by email and receive a full refund.
- Kimono rental during peak periods: For March 16–April 30, October 1–31, and December 20–January 5, please contact us by email about kimono rental bookings. Availability is limited.

What is included in the geisha tea ceremony and show?
The approximately 45-minute experience includes a tea ceremony with a maiko or geisha, matcha preparation, a Japanese sweet, a short traditional dance, English interpretation, and time for conversation and commemorative photos. Kimono rental is a separate optional booking.
Does the ¥14,900 price include tax?
Yes. The displayed price of ¥14,900 per person includes tax. Check the booking calendar for the applicable price on your selected date. Optional kimono rental is charged separately.
Will I meet a geisha or a maiko?
A maiko usually hosts the experience. On some dates, a geisha may appear depending on availability. A geisha, called a geiko in Kyoto, is a professional artist trained in traditional arts and hospitality; a maiko is an apprentice.
Is kimono rental included?
No. If you would like to wear a kimono, please book the kimono rental add-on separately for a time at least one hour before your geisha experience. The rental plan includes dressing and essential accessories.
Can I ask questions in English?
Yes. An English-speaking interpreter explains the experience and helps you ask your host about geisha culture and the arts.
Can I take photos or videos?
There is an opportunity for commemorative photos after the ceremony and performance. Please do not film the full ceremony or dance. Short personal videos may be possible during designated photo time; ask permission first and follow your host’s guidance.
Can children join?
Guests aged 7 and older may participate. Children under 7 cannot enter the tea ceremony venue.
Do I have to sit on the floor?
Chairs and tables can be provided on request. Please contact us in advance if you need seating arrangements or special assistance.
