Which tea ceremony school does Maikoya follow?
MAIKOYA’s Tea House is home to a diverse group of hosts with various backgrounds. Some hosts have trained in the Urasenke tradition, while others come from the Omotesenke school. Each host welcomes guests by drawing on their own knowledge, experience, and personal style. The utensils used in the tea ceremony follow the Urasenke style for consistency. While each tea school has its own core concepts, at MAIKOYA, we place special emphasis on the meditative and mindful aspects of the tea ceremony.
PS:Maikoya respects all tea ceremony schools but is not affiliated with any of them, officially or unofficially, nor does it represent itself as such.
