Established in 1854, Iwaso is a traditional Japanese inn located in a city called Hatsukaichi. The location is known for the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The ryokan belongs to the “Three Views of Japan”, possessing the authentic feel of a Japanese-style accommodation and having distinct characteristics. It has a 1,400-year history, with its aesthetic dating back to the Heian period.

The ryokan offers hot spring baths that can be enjoyed either indoors or in the open air, paired with relaxing massages upon request. Its interiors are based on traditional Japanese design and have a total of 38 rooms, which cost between 30,000 to 60,000 JPY per night. Some rooms also include private bathrooms.

Their kaiseki presents guests with locally sourced ingredients and quality seafood, which can be enjoyed either at the restaurant or be delivered to rooms. Breakfast is served at Momiji restaurant.

During the stay at the inn, travelers can visit other tourist sites like the Momijidani Park and the Miyajima Aquarium. A free shuttle is available at the Miyajima Ferry Terminal.
