Yumoto Chobokaku Yuimakura

Yuimakura is ryokan located in Minamiuonuma District in Niigata Prefecture, on the edge of a wooded mountain area. The ryokan is a delectable fusion of Japanese and Western elements in modern design.

The building itself was once a private residence but is now infused with the luxuries of an inn. The cuisine is prepared from the produce of the local mountain area as well as the sea.

With only five rooms, the 300-year-old residence-turned-ryokan, has its own private hot spring baths in each room. The baths emulate an open-air feel similar to communal baths, with the beautiful views of nature but within the privacy of the guest’s room. One night’s stay in the limited number of rooms may range from 35,000 to 40,000 JPY.
Yumoto Chobokaku Yuimakura is accessible via train from Tokyo Station and via taxi onwards to the ryokan. The hotel is operating normally with pandemic measures in place to prevent the spread of infection.
