GOOD TO KNOW
Everything you need to choose the right experience and arrive ready for your adventure.
It is an immersive museum experience. You will explore samurai and ninja history with an engaging guide, see artifacts up close, and take part in hands-on activities — it is not simply a quiet collection of displays.
The Museum With Experience — Basic Ticket is our most popular introduction. It combines a guided museum tour, a samurai armor trial and a ninja star experience in one easy visit.
Our family and kid-friendly samurai and ninja programs take place at the Annex of Samurai Ninja Museum Kyoto, a separate venue a short distance from the main museum. Please check the location shown on your booking.
Age requirements depend on the program. Choose an experience marked Family or Kid Friendly and check the individual booking page for the current age guidance before reserving.
The museum includes authentic historical artifacts. Japanese law prohibits guests from using real swords during experiences. For hands-on lessons, participants use equipment selected for safe, supervised practice; sharpened antique swords are never used by guests.
Group sessions are conducted in English. Interpretation into other languages cannot be provided during a group session. Please contact us before booking if your group requires different language support.
Photography is welcome during most experience moments, and our team will help you capture memorable photos. Your guide will let you know if photography is restricted around a particular artifact or activity.
Please arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. Programs begin promptly so every guest can enjoy the complete experience.
Late arrival may shorten your experience or make participation impossible when a session has already begun. Contact the venue as soon as possible if you expect a delay.
Storage space is limited. Please leave large suitcases at your hotel or use a station locker and bring only small personal items to the venue.
There is no dedicated guest parking. Public transport is the easiest way to reach both central Kyoto venues.
