Kai Hakone is a hot spring traditional inn located in the Prefecture of Kanagawa. The area is known for its district of mountains which has a dense population. The district is a part of Hakone which is in the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.

Hakone is known for being a mountainous town and is known for being a rich source of hot spring accommodations. It is where Kai Hakone specifically sits on a part of a river. The ryokan is renowned for its preservation of tradition and mixing it with the modern genre, which can be seen resounded by the designs of their rooms. Kai Hakone has a total of 32 rooms which cost around 60,000 to 120,000 JPY per night.

Its rooms offer a view of the river where the inn calmly sits. The first three floors of the inn display traditional Japanese aesthetics, having the elements that compose the look of the classic ryokan.

The fourth floor introduces a Western-style room where the modern essence can be clearly seen. Aside from the stunning show of the rooms, Kai Hakone also offers activities like yosegi coaster-making.

Here guests can interact with each other and even take the craft home as their souvenir. The inn invites its visitors to try kaiseki, which is a multi-course meal with dishes based on Japanese cuisine.

Mealtime at the ryokan is where friends and family can spend quality time together. With the location of the inn known as having plentiful hot springs, one of the most special features the ryokan prides in is its hot spring baths.

Yumoto is Hakone’s most renowned source, to which the inn also credits. Guests can enjoy open-air baths that provide them with the beauty of nature during their relaxation. Kai Hakone can be accessed by a car ride from the Hakone-Yumoto Station.
