Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga is a modern ryokan in Kushiro, Hokkaido, overlooking Lake Akanko. A lakeside hotel, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Akan from the rooms and the open-air hot spring baths.

The hotel has 223 guest rooms, with elegant interiors taking inspiration from Japanese and a fusion of Japanese and Western designs, that can host individuals and large groups.

Guests can take their pick on which of the hotel’s seven baths they wish to enjoy--from indoor communal baths, open-air hot spring baths surrounded by a garden, to one with a panoramic view of Lake Akan.

For more private groups, there is a family bath that can be reserved ahead of time. The rooms can range from 11,000 to 63,000 JPY for one night.

Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga also provides other facilities and services for its guests, some of which include a restaurant, cafe and bar, lounges, shops, gardens, and a gym. A yukata rental is also available.

The hotel can be accessed by train from Sapporo/Chitose, Obihiro, Okhotsk, and Kushiro, and local buses. Due to the pandemic, the hotel restaurant, fireside dining, and private function rooms are closed.
