Aoi Kamogawa Tei

Aoi Kamagowa-Tei is a traditional Japanese inn that is more than a hundred years old.

Before its ryokan status, the inn served as a storage house that later became a training ground for the maiko, known as the apprentice of the geisha. The ryokan today has now evolved to serving guests with amenities combined with modern touches. This is a place ideal for tranquility and mind rest.

The rooms of Aoi Kamagowa-Tei are based on traditional Japanese design and Western-style. There is also a library nearby the river Kamogawa next to the bedrooms, where visitors can relax while reading a book.
The inn is a house that can be rented and enjoyed by the whole family or a group of friends. A stay at the inn costs around 40,000 to 60,000 per night including a living room, kitchen, toilet, bathroom, and a terrace by the river.
The location is near to many restaurants in the area and the oldest market of Nishiki koji Kyoto where guests can pick the food of their choice as they go along their stroll.
Tourist attractions like the Kamogawa river and the geisha district in Gion are near to the ryokan.
Aoi Kamagowa-Tei can be reached by trains coming from Kawaramachi Station and Gion Shijo Station. It is also accessible by cars coming from Itami Airport, Kobe Airport, and Kansai International Airport.

In March, Aoi Kamagowa-Tei announced precautionary measures due to COVID-19, for the safety of their guests. They have highlighted disinfection of their rooms and areas, especially to doorknobs and buttons of the elevator. The place has also been equipped with alcohol dispensers and has required their staff to undergo health procedures and wearing face masks.
