Great visit!
Searched a lot for a genuine inn and was recommended Fukuzumiro. Good food, relaxing onsen, great service and awesome stay! My room (Take 3) was great for 1-2 people and with a view over the river. Big thanks to Akane who served the dinner and breakfast. Will definitely visit in the future.

Amazing Ryokan Experience
Our stay at Fukuzumiro (Sakura 5) was absolutely incredible. It had a real traditional feel, the view from our room was gorgeous, and our host, Akane (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) was extremely kind and welcoming. The kaiseki meal was delicious and very filling. Akane explained what each dish was and how to eat it properly. Akane’s English was fantastic and we were stunned to find out she is self-taught. I would highly recommend Fukuzumiro if you’re looking for a traditional ryokan with great food and top-notch customer service.

Serene and traditional
Definitely my favourite part of our month in Japan. We stayed in sakura #5 which is meant to have the greatest views of all the rooms and it definitely lived up to that. I spent hours sitting enjoying those views while listening to the sounds of the river. I don't recall the name of our host but she was so lovely and kind. When we arrived she brought us the most delicious red bean mochi I have even eaten. We slept so peacefuly on the futon to the sounds of the river, although my husband did struggle a little due to back issues. The meals were some of the best I have ever had. Everything was so fresh and full of flavour, while still being light enough to enjoy. I was particularly delighted to hear that despite my tattoos, I was allowed to enjoy all the onsen, not just the private one. This was our first time using onsen and we were both able to enjoy each one. We never had to share either. We walked from the station, which was a bit difficult with some footpaths so I recommend catching a bus if you have any mobility issues (as well as if you have a fear of spiders, they were everywhere on that walk). I honestly can't wait to return!
