Kinpyo
Established in 1810, Gion-Kinpyo was a townhouse around the Edo period. It evolved to being a hotel, having the modern style concept that upholds the traditional essence of Japanese aesthetic and culture.
The location of Kinpyo is surrounded by a historical environment in Higashiyama. The area is known as a frame that holds the feel of the feudal era. Guests can also go to nearby traditional restaurants for their food and explore the rest of the Kyoto area.
The rooms of Gion-Kinpyo preserved the original touch in its structures paired with the classic window and spacious areas. Their rooms are designed based on traditional Japanese style, complete with tatami mat flooring and futon beddings. Gion-Kinpyo is a house that can be rented and enjoyed by the whole family or a group of friends. A stay at the inn costs around 40,000 to 80,000 JPY per night, including a cypress bath and kitchenette.Well-known restaurants like Shijo-dori or the Pontocho Alley are just a few steps away from Kinpyo. Guests can also visit the famous Gion district to see geishas and long-established teahouses.
The ryokan can be reached by rides coming from Sanjo Keihan Station, Sanjo Station, and Kyoto Kawaramachi Station.
In August of 2020, Kinpyo announced measures against COVID-19 to protect its staff and customers. Masks and disinfectants are highly encouraged by the inn and had the building equipped with ventilation and disinfection.
