Shiratamanoyu Kahou in Tsukioka Onsen is a luxurious ryokan in Niigata Prefecture. The ryokan is known for their traditional Japanese style rooms and interior with tatami mat flooring and futon bedding.

Guests will be able to immerse themselves into the country’s culture with the traditional Japanese ambiance, and even get to wear a Yukata, as provided by the hotel for everyone who stays. Their one hundred rooms feature a view of the large serene garden as well. One night’s stay will range in price from 31,000 to 70,000 JPY.

Because Shiratamanoyu is located in an onsen area, guests will be able to enjoy a hot spring bath, either in the large communal bath or in private. To complete the experience, the ryokan also serves multi-course Japanese meals, kaiseki, for dinner.

Shiratamanoyu Kahou can be easily accessed from Tokyo Station to Niigata Station then to Toyosaka Station. The resort is operating normally with safety measures in place to prevent the spread of infection.

Nice hotel with hot natural spring baths set in a beautiful location
Location and scenery beautiful...the room was very nice .... the staff couldnt be more helpful. The hotel has natural hot baths which is a must if your going to stay at this hotel , it's well known for its natural hot spring baths through out Japan people travel far to visit baths.

Amazing private bath
Just went to reserved private bath Tsuki no Fune from staying at sister hotel Senkei. It was HUGE! We stayed and been to many private bath but this was one of the largest one ever been. Washing area with shower gas heated floor. Kids toys, stools equipped. Very impressive.

Sulfur (Hydrogen sulfide)
One of the three hot springs in Japan with high level of sulfur. The water "smells" because of sulfur (or hydrogen sulfide; I am not a chemist and not in a position to say whether sulfur is the cause of the smell or hydrogen sulfide is the reason), but the flip is that the water is great. The hotel is a large one, with approximately 100 rooms, which you will not feel "personal" hospitality. That said, the service level is not bad, but you should stay at a smaller ryokan if you want to feel omotenashi.
