Hotel without warmth
The room is big and clean and its location is good (close to Utoro bus station). What it lacks is warmth. We reached the hotel at 2.30pm and the long hair jap lady at reception coldly said check in at 3pm. Told us to wait till 3pm. And there’s no smile on her face. Other hotels usually would be apologetic or allowed us to check in after they checked the room is ready. This one straight no no. After we waited 15min, the same lady came out and told us can check in. Dinner is on 2nd floor and buffet. Food is average. I only like the earl grey tea and that tea is not produced by the hotel. Ha!
Pleasant ryokan conveniently located in a small port
We flew into Memanbetsu Airport & took the Airport Express bus with its terminus at the Utoro bus station. To get to the hotel just cross the street & walk along the paved pathway along the Pereke river to the main street. The hotel is to the right. Using public transportation is challenging, so one should be aware of the schedules.
The Shiretoko Noble Hotel is a smaller but conveniently located ryokan. Its baths were large & comfortable with great views of the port & beyond. The breakfast & dinner buffets were well supplied with Hokkaido based choices.
My concern was that the lower futon was a bit stiff on the back. The upper was very warm & comfortable.
great, convenient stop to be in
Decent view of the harbour from the restaurant which served Japanese cuisine buffet, part of the Hokkaido experience. Was pleasantly surprised by the room as it had a lot of space to walk about, despite keeping our luggage open. And lovely amenities. There was a bath available too, to soak in 🙂
Beautiful hotel with excellent onsen and breakfast/ dinner buffet
Couldn’t be happier with this hotel. Clean modern spacious Japanese style rooms. Delicious breakfast and dinner buffet. Rooftop Onsen was clean and modern. We had the whole Onsen to ourselves especially if you go early. Good views of ocean or mountains from the 3rd floor and up.
Room was very big and comfortable
The exterior of this hotel looks like a haunted building and there were less than 4 guests in this hotel when we were here. But not judging by a book by its covers, the room was very huge and modern compared to your normal average hotels. We went to the onsen and there was no one at all. At 4pm, the onsen was not hot enough. There is also a outdoor bath and sauna room in the bath house. Amenities provided were enough. The toilet seat in our room opens up automatically. Very modern toilet too. Parking is free too. This is probably the best hotel in the area. Only con is that the heater is not warm enough for such a big room. We were quite cold throughout. We paid 16,300yen for a night.
