Chountei is a garden located in the south of Kyoto. This garden is known as the garden of the sound tide and is a wonderful zen garden located behind the Kenniji temple. The garden has 3 stones that represent Buddha and two Zen monks, and another stone that is known as a zazen seki, which is a stone used for meditation. The garden has maple trees placed around to allow onlookers to have a beautiful view from each direction.
Ōkōchi Sansō is located in Arashiyama. It was once the residence of Ōkōchi Denjirō a famous film star of early Japanese cinema. It is a beautiful garden that has many unique features. Such as the Myōkō-an Hall, Ōkochi enjiro Museum, Jibutsu-dō hall, and more. I have one of the best views of Kyoto to look over the city.
Ryōan-ji is located in the northwest of Kyoto. Ryōan-ji is one of the most famous of all rock gardens in Japan. the temple where the garden is was founded in 1450, by a deputy of the Ashikaga shogunate, But the age of the Garden is unknown but is thought to have been made in the late 1400s or early 1500s.
