Great experience
Before coming to Japan I knew that I definitely wanted to experience this unique activity. But this was a bit different, I was by myself and i had to take off my shoes and enter a huge building to do something Ive never done before. When the two smiling two ladies met me at the entrance with the warmest welcome I felt at ease. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. Not only the tea ceremony but also the decor , complimentray drinks, the samurai swords and the selection of kimono choices were absolutely great! Everyone should include Mikoya in their itinerary imo.

Great experience

Amazing cultural experience!
We came in early on a Monday morning and were instantly greeted with a smile and a hot beverage. Then we went upstairs where we were able to pick our own kimonos and Hikari, our guide who spoke the best English we've heard in Osaka so far, helped us put on our kimonos. She also gave us an up do and put flowers in our hair! Then she led us into the tea ceremony room where our teacher led us through the ceremony. Everything was done in a meticulous way and was described first in Japanese by our teacher and then in perfect English by Hikari. We were able to ask questions and take pictures the entire time. We made matcha tea and had water cake during the tea ceremony. Overall it was a beautiful and very relaxing experience and we're so happy we came to Maikoya to do a tea ceremony in kimonos! You won't be disappointed if you do.

We go for the tea ceremony with kimono package at 7k yen... worth every cents. The service staff are very patient to dress us up and do up our hair. At first we choose the wrong size of kimono, but they are too polite to tell us to choose again. We realized something is wrong when they keep trying to hold the oversized kimomo. After checking then they tell us to select another piece. The tea ceremony is hosted in English and we learn to clean and make tea... very cultural. We took quite a bit of pictures with the background and are happy with their services. Well done!

Tea ceremony and mochi
My wife and I visited Maikoya for the tea ceremony and mochi class. We both learned how to make mochi and had a lot of fun. It was so sticky! Afterwards, we did a traditional teaceremony and learned how to properly clean and serve tea. We would highly recommend this place for couples or friends to learn some traditional aspects of Japanese culture.


Cool tea ceremony experience
We had a bit of difficulty locating the establishment. But as soon as we saw it, everything else went very well. We chose the Tea Ceremony package. It was a beautiful experience! Its my 8th time travelling to Osaka but this is my first Tea Ceremony experience. It was all worth it! Also, the staffs were kind enough to allow us take photos of the other facilities.
